Royal Ascot is the ultimate stage for the best racehorses in the world as well as a who's who of the society set, including the British Royal Family, who arrive in horse-drawn landaus (carriages). It is where tradition, pageantry and style all meet. While the racing is world class, the event has also become known for its fashion. Attendees will all be wearing their stylish best, and the daily Royal Ascot Fashion Show, sponsored by Fairmont in 2011, is a place for internationally renowned British designers to show off their collections. The Bessborough Restaurant will be hosting the show, June 14 -18, and Fairmont will design the Afternoon Tea menu with recipes from three of the brand's legendary hotels: The Savoy in London, The Plaza in New York and Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai.
