Brunch with a view

What better way to escape the humdrum of daily life and the week long madness than a cosy Sunday brunch. A brunch does notfollow rules and time is never a constraint. It could be a romantic escape with an intimate atmosphere or a lovely place to meet friends. For me, the choice of place depends to a large extent on the service, food and ambience. A combination of superlative guest reception and refined food in an elegant but relaxed ambience makes Fairmont Le Montreux Palace the perfect Sunday escapade. Once you’re here, the world can wait. The spectacular buffet room with its royal touch receives us as we enter. Outside, an absolutely beautiful view over the Alps and the lake make for a perfect setting that transforms the taste of our food into a memorable journey. This idyllic setting fits perfectly in the window next to our table. The sound of cutlery and the nice piano notes blend in the background as we indulge our palette. When it comes to taste, there is everything: sophisticated starters, fresh pasta bar, sumptuous seafood, warm food with theme ingredients, fresh fruit juices bar, warm bread and as a “cherry on the cake”, a huge room with desserts, macarons, cakes and a surprise chocolate fountain. I’d be lying if I said that I never dreamt of “living in a palace by the lake” (even if just for a day!). But this brunch was a good start especially because we could even choose our Sunday Brunch theme.
