Artishow Victoria 2015

Blue skies and bright sunshine marks the beginning of the Artishow Victoria season and Fairmont Empress couldn’t be prouder to be a sponsor of this event. Artishow’s mission statement is:

“to make art, in all its forms, open to everyone in accessible venues allowing exposure of the art’s benefits and values to the individual and to the greater community without it being intimidating or elitist.”

During the months of May to October, between 10am and 5pm, on Wednesday through Friday, the Artishow’s Artists in Residence program provides a rotation of artists who will showcase their work in various hotel lobbies around the city. This unique experience allows hotel guests and the public to interact with the artists in action.

Artishow is in its fifth year of existence thanks to the dynamite duo of Kerry Liggins and Barbara Adams who put their hearts into ensuring that this labour of love is a success. Artishow is a special program that brings the fine arts to life in downtown Victoria and promotes Victoria as a destination of culture and art.

Fairmont Empress is pleased to host artist Linda Skaleda as the Artist in Residence until October 2015. The hotel has opted to host artists on a 3 to 6 month term and provides a dedicated art studio. More information on the hotel’s website here: http://bit.ly/1IDXqX0
