History and family.
Ottawa has always been on my list of places to visit and I decided for my inaugural visit that I would spend three days and two nights at the lovely Fairmont Château Laurier getting to know our nation's capital and taking in all the sights I could. The view from my room was gorgeous and allotted a view of the Parliament Buildings and, with a turn of my head the Rideau Canal.
My trip to Ottawa and later on to Barrie was to get more in touch with my family history both of my paternal grandparents and my maternal grandfather, having already done extensive work on my maternal grandmother's line. Being in Ottawa allowed me to connect with my family and my country's past.
The picture was taken from the window in my room at the Château Laurier
