Tea Story:
If you can find a more nutritious, more relaxing, more soothing, more relaxing, or more invigorating cup than this amazing lemon Rooibos tea, please, by all means, let our master taster know about it. This tea, with its mellow Rooibos flavor tempered by delicious lemony undertones is about as refreshing a tea as you are ever going to come across.
For those of you unfamiliar with the relaxing and restorative properties of a freshly brewed cup of Rooibos, you're in for a real treat. Rooibos, (Latin: Aspalathus linearis) which means "red bush" in Afrikaans, the language of South Africa where this caffeine free beverage is grown and produced, makes one of the world's most vitamin rich herbal infusions. The leaves of the plant itself resemble red pine needles and are purported to be rich in copper, iron, potassium, calcium fluoride, manganese, alpha-hydroxy (which is good for healthy looking skin!) and magnesium. Whew! The net result of all this goodness is an herbal infusion that has the ability to clear the mind and reinvigorate the body.
Now, as we mentioned, this blend has been rounded out by the addition of juicy lemon. Unlike Rooibos perhaps, the benefits of this citrus fruit are commonly known - they're delicious and packed with vitamin C. As you sip this tea notice how the tart citrus bite of lemon interacts with the mellow herbaceous flavor of the Rooibos. It is truly a melange of flavors that words can scarcely do justice. Brew a cup today and toast the red bush! Cheers. (Oh - then sit back and relax!)
How is organic tea grown?
Operating an organic tea garden or herbal farm is a multi-stepped process. In all cases, organic tea farms adhere to the following:
• Abstinence from using any synthetic fertilizer or pesticide
• Protection of the environmental integrity of lands surrounding the gardens
• Minimize pollution and optimize biological productivity
• Replenishment and maintenance of garden soil fertility.
• Promotion and maintenance of biodiversity in and around the tea gardens.
(This includes working to protect natural wildlife habitats.)
To make the perfect cup of Fairmont Tea: Bring freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Use 1 teaspoon of Fairmont Lemon Rooibos luxury loose tea or 1 tea bag of Fairmont Lemon Rooibos luxury tea for each 10 ounce/300 ml serving required. Pour boiling water into teapot. Cover and let steep for 3-7 minutes to desired strength - the longer the steeping time the stronger the tea. Although milk and a dash of sugar may help enhance the flavor of this tea, it is perfectly acceptable to consume it 'straight-up.'
To make the perfect cup of Fairmont Iced Tea: (to make 1 liter/quart): Place 6 teaspoons of Fairmont Lemon Rooibos luxury loose tea or 6-8 tea bags of Fairmont Lemon Rooibos luxury tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Steep 5 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Strain the tea into the pitcher. Add ice and top-up with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. [A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water].
